Since then, the project has come along way. Pass your mouse over the photos below to see the text.  Photos by Fred Nelson Fabrication see copyright.

A Roadster deck lid was painstakingly "reverse engineered" then a replica 'plug' was sculpted from wood, foam, and polyester body filler.   Great care is taken to accuracy Parts being test fitted Body filler is used to complete the scupture The plug is painted and waxed, ready for the mold to be made

A Roadster bumper "plug" was sculpted at LSD beginning with the bumper from a 30th Edition Diablo. STEP 2. Turning a 30th bumper into a roadster bumper using foam, wood, and body filler. STEP 3. Next, the plug is primered with Polyester primer and ready for polishing. STEP 4. The plug is body worked to perfection then polished, buffed and waxed so that a mold may be made from it.

Gordon's Big Block Chevy engine, inverted Pantera transmission, Corvette suspension and brakes 'mocked-up' at LSD. Nissan 300zx headlights, Lamborghini tail lights, rectangular Hella Comet 300 Driving Lamps and Hella DE Fog small aperature 74408. Contact Ken Beard at Susquehanna Motorsports 717-993-2215 LSD engineered replica wheel centers which were later assembled into O.Z. rim 'rings'. Don't ask how much. Many, many, many thousands of dollars. But, what Gordon ended up with was a set of 200 mph rims built exactly to the proper scale. Corvette suspension components are combinded with custom LSD components for Gordon's car. Again, to the tune of thousands upon thousands of dollars. Gordon's car uses a Corvette rac and pinon. The great attention to quality and detail that Lee is putting into Gordon's car is unpresidented in this industry and remarkably demonstrated in this photo talen inside LSD.

A 'core' engine block was used to help mock-up the transmission adapter. Corvette brake components are combined with custom fabrication by LSD Here Mike Bova's body is set over the chassis to get an idea of where the project is headed. Click this photo to enlarge it and you can begin to appreciate the amount of engineering required to build an exact replica from scrach.
